Mandated Activities
The KVK was launched to enhance the productivity, profitability and sustainability of different agricultural and agrobased occupations in the district through various extension methods considering socio-economic and environmental conditions of the districts. The extension programmes namely Front Line Demonstrations, On Farm Trails, Training to Farmers/ farm woman, Rural youths and extension personnels are being sincerely adopted for transfer of agricultural technologies in district in general and adopted villages. The various activities of KVK related to the diffusion of technology is going on based on the need of the farmers as well as the suggestions of the scientific advisory committee.

OFT
On farm testing (OFT) is focused to demonstrate technology in strength resulting yield gains through integrated approach with optimum inputs saving the cost of production against traditional ways of agriculture to promote its adoption in existing farming systems and situations. In this way, the KVK facilitates the research workers in assessing the technology for its adoptability before it is taken up by the main extension system.
FLD
The frontline demonstrations have been designed to show the production potential of modern agricultural technologies on farmers’ field. The outcome of these activities have been computed in the form of number of beneficiaries who have adopted these technologies for enhancing yield optimizing inputs thereby increasing farm income resulted in socio-economic status of farmers. Even after conducting FLDs, yield gap is recorded at the farmers’ field which still needs counseling & attention
Training Programmes
Need based and demand driven long and short term vocational, off/on campus training programmes were organized as the major mandate of KVK. A series of institutional training were executed for the benefit of farmers, farm women and agricultural entrepreneurs.
